Today’s Key Scripture
“We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
— Ephesians 6:12
I rejoice and claim every bad day turned around, every sorrow overcome, every difficulty survived through the prayers and support of your saints* past and present…
I pray for the sword of the spirit that I might take your power of prayer as an offensive weapon against the schemes of the devil
I confess that I have no skill on my own to use this weapon and ask you to teach me how to use it and instruct me at every turn.
May no weapon formed against it prosper. (Isaiah 54:17)
I pray for the Holy Spirit to help me intercede. (Romans 8:26,27)
I pray for the spiritual gift of discernment. (I Cor 12:10
I know that in my human power, that this is impossible but that with you, all things are possible. (Zechariah 4:6)
I thank you that all power and authority on heaven and earth has been given to Christ. (Matthew 28:18)
I thank you that every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. ((Romans 14:11)
I stand in the strength of your promise that “Greater is he who is within us than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
I now declare from your Word that Satan is a liar and there is no truth in him (John 8:44) and that you, Jesus, are the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6)
I label Satan as a robber who comes to destroy and to steal (John 10:10) and that you, Jesus, came to give gifts to humans (Ephesians 4:8) and to bring us abundant life. (John 10:12.)
I thank you that if I resist the devil, he will flee from me. (James 4:7). And so this prayer is my declaration of resistance,
I resist these schemes, *I resist fear, I resist destruction through the power that Christ gives me.* And I claim that the devil will flee from me as a result.
I claim the scripture that says, ‘We don’t fight against flesh and blood but the dark forces of the air.” (Ephesians 6:12,13) *and through Christ I can stand.*
*We can stand, “Not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord*.” (Zechariah 4:6)
I thank you that you are my strong tower and my hiding place. (Prov.18:10, Psalm 61:3, Psalm 32:7)
I thank you that Jesus said, “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
I thank you that you said, “Peace I give you, my peace I leave with you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)
I thank you for promising “No temptation has come upon you that is not common to humans. He will not let you be tested beyond your strength but will provide for you a way out.” (I Cor 10:13)
May I continue this prayer as the Spirit leads me as I go from here into the world where Christ’s light is needed, to every dark corner of my soul and my world. (John 1:4,5) For you are the light of the world, darkness must flee from your presence. (Matt. 5:14)
I pray this in the strong name of Jesus Christ my Savior.
Amen.
